established in 1995 and is awarded for the purpose of enabling a
successful candidate to undertake full-time PhD research in the area of
Community Pharmacy Practice.

These were the words inscribed in the
plaque given to Alan Grant-Taylor on his retirement from the Pharmacy
Guild State Branch Committee in 1992. He devoted his life to the
profession he loved, offering freely of his time and vision to the
practice of community pharmacy. The power vested in people with real
commitment and vision manifests in their ability to influence not only
their contemporaries, but through the power of their vision, to exert an
influence on future generations; Alan Grant-Taylor was a man in this
mould.
